Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to be advanced at pole or aerial to book a shoot?

No. You don’t need to compete, You don’t need extreme flexibility, You don’t need advanced tricks.

If you can safely hold a move, we can photograph it properly.

Beginners, intermediate students, instructors and competitors are all welcome.

You don’t need to be elite to look strong on camera.
We work within your skill set and guide you through what you need to do to make those poses look the best!

Is it safe?

Yes.

We have a floor to ceiling stainless steel X pole and a stage pole. All equipment is set up properly and tested before your session. We will only shoot tricks that are comfortably within your skillset. If you have specific safety questions, ask before you book.

Is the studio private?

Yes. We will be booking the entire room/studio for these sessions.
Other dancers may have booked before or after and may be warming up nearby, but we don't allow strangers to be there (except your friend/comfort person you bring along!)

I’ve never done pole or aerial shoot in a studio before - Can you help?

Despite James' lack of rhythm and inability to touch his toes, he has done multiple terms of pole classes himself to understand what is needed to make your shapes look the best, he can't do a ballerina but he can guide you through how to make yours look amazing. Feel free too bring a pole friend who understands your skillset, your strength and tricks.

Can I Bring a Friend?

Yes, we encourage anyone to bring a comfort person or a hype girl someone to assist you with outfit changes giving you a spin If needed, bonus point if they're also a pole dancer, if you are both looking to shoot together you can book your sessions back to back to share in double time and get dual shots as well.

How many outfits can I bring?

For these shoots, we can accommodate 2 outfits per person

Is hair and makeup included?

No, most dancers arrive with their hair and makeup before their shoot. Please ensure you arrive ready, or with enough time to prepare at your studio

Does this sound familiar?

  • You've been doing pole + aerial for a few months, but your iphone photos don't accurately capture your new strength and skills

  • You’ve been training your ass off… and the only proof you’ve got is a grainy phone video from the corner of the room.

  • You know you’re overdue, You’re sick of watching other people do it, You want to see yourself done right.

About us

Hey, I'm James!

I'm a Pole dance photographer from Sydney, Australia and I'll be coming to Japan this July to bring you the best pole photography you've ever seen!
I discovered my love of capturing human movement after shooting a basketball game many years ago, but after connecting with dancers I turned my lens to the craft of pole dance + aerials. I've done a few terms of pole classes myself to better understand the sport, art, and struggles of pulling off these tricks.

Although I look great in six inch heels you probably look better, so I'll leave it to the pro's.
You're great on the pole, and I'm better with the camera - and together we can make some amazing art!
